A reverse tummy tuck improves the upper abdominal skin, but when the belly button is low then the effect on the umbilicus will be minimal. In your case a full tummy tuck will give you the best result.
Dear Compassionate778672,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
An in person evaluation is always best but from your photos it appears you would have the best outcome from a standard tummy tuck. This would address the belly button concerns as well as remove excess fat and skin and correct abdominal wall laxity.
A reverse tummy tuck is not a good option and does have a large scar. You would do best with liposuction to remove the excess fat. Your skin should do well with just liposuction.
Unfortunately there are not a lot of good options for a sad belly button. In my opinion a reverse tummy tuck is not a good operation and the scar does not justify the benefit for most patients unless they already have breast lift/reduction scars or are going to have that procedure.Umbilicoplasty as fancy as it sounds is just gonna leave you with bad looking scars. my vote is for well done liposuction of your entire torso. It won’t help your belly button but will make you look slim and lean.Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe including a lot of plastic surgeons. If you find a really talented provider who has a proven track record with a collection of before and after pictures that reads like a telephone book with awesome results consistently then Liposuction can be an amazing procedure for those who carry a little extra fat in the wrong areas and have fairly good skin.If you’re gonna opt for a tummy tuck then the standard tummy tuck is almost always the best procedure.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Thank you for your inquiry! By your photos, it looks like you would be a great candidate for an abdominoplasty to get rid of any excess skin. The only difference in a mini vs a full abdominoplasty is how long the incision is. A mini tummy tuck is going to have a smaller incision than a full...
Thank you for your question. Based on the photos provided, you may warrant a revision. Although swelling will diminish over time creating a flatter contour to the abdomen, the excess skin may still remain. I recommend speaking to your plastic surgeon to discuss your options and concerns.
