Can you lower the inframamory fold or release the constricted breast without using an implant to hold it in place? I want to release the constriction of my fold but interred in fat transfer for slight lower pole fullness rather than an implant.
Answer: Treatment of narrow base breasts Without in person consultation and good series of photos, it is very difficult to give you appropriate answer. Implant definitely helps to keep released breast tissue from constriction; simultaneous fat grafting may help. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in constricted breast treatment (check website photos) is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Yes, with fat grafting Tuberous breast deformity/constricted breasts can be corrected with fat grafting. Most women need 2-3 sessions, depending on severity of the deformity and desired size. Keep in mind that you have to have enough fat to harvest for grafting, and there is some variability in the amount of fat that survives. Some women may need a breast lift to make the nipple positions more similar if there is significant asymmetry and it bothers them.

Answer: Constricted breasts It is possible to release the inferior portion of the breast without using implants. Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your bra size. The technique I prefer to use is to not lower the inframammary fold but raise the nipple-areola complex higher. This can be done using a circumareola incision. At the same time, fat transfers can be performed. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Can you release the constricted breast without implants? Hello @evaligne171, thank you for your question. In order to improve the overall shape of your breast, you may consider to reaccomodate the mammary tissue, breast projection and nipple, with an inverted J scar for minimal scarring to enhance shape and breast projection. An accurate surgical plan requires a consultation. The best course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information and options tailored specifically to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez, MD FACS.

Answer: Tuberous breasts Dear evaligne171, tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall. The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition. My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries. That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
