I got a chin implant removed 6 months ago, I only had the implant for a year, but my mandible muscles are causing tension.I got a rhinoplasty surgery about a year ago, the surgeon recommended getting a chin implant due to my facial structure. A few months after, I ended up getting so many issues. My mouth hurt, I couldn't smile, the implant irritated my skin, and I got a lot of pimples on my chin. I had to find another doctor to remove it. However, my chin isn't the same. I have a small visible pocket, and when I speak, I can feel my muscles causing tension. What can I do to make my chin feel better?

Answer: Typically, somebody's chin appearance returns to normal after a chin implant is removed. In general, when somebody is having issues like you had with a chin implant in place, once the implant is removed, things should go back to normal. Generally speaking, massage can sometimes help to alleviate any tightness around surgical sites. Botox could also be implemented if there is indeed muscle tension. An in person consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon may be of benefit to you.

You can consider having the surgeon go back and take it out - this is a simple procedure. What is a Capsule? It is unusual to have any muscle issues with a chin implant, especially a Porex/Medpore type. Botox may take the strain off the muscles until you feel better. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon.
