Would a chin implant improve the appearance of my pointy chin? (photos)

Question

I am considering options to improve the look of my chin. My face is heart shaped and my chin is quite pointy. When i smile, it really emphasizes how pointy it is and contributes to large smile lines. Would a chin implant be a good option to improve this? I l’m aware there are many types and am curious if a particular type would be best for me.

It appears that you have adequate chin projection but a significant asymmetry of your jawline. In order to improve the appearance of your chin, I would also address the jawline to create a more symmetrical appearance. This is accomplished with a computer generated model and custom implant for your anatomy.

Based on your photos, you appear to have a pleasing facial profile appearance. On front view, we can see an indentation next to your chin on the left side. Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections maybe considered for achieving a smoother chin appearance, where you have an indentation. thank you for posting your question. The choice of chin surgery or chin implant depends all on what you are aiming for. There are  implants that are not adding too much projection on the front, but more lateral. Sometimes additional work on the overlying soft  tissue (chin pad) adds to achieve  better symmetry, and a better aesthetic and balanced result.  Listening to a few approaches of surgeons who are experienced in chin surgery might be a good start. This will allow you to learn more about the different approaches and to make an informed decisison of what works for you best.

Chin implants have wing extensions on them now that are longer and wider.  This may result in improvement of your appearance.

We can reduce the pointedness of your chin by reshaping the bone and soft tissue. Alternatively, a chin implant could be done on the side to widen the chin, but this does, in general, create a heavier more masculine chin face.  Chin surgery can be done simultaneous with revision rhinoplasty.

A chin implant can accomplish adding projection to your chin and width to help balancing out the projection of your nose from the side profile. In our practice, we use Implantech brand of solid silicone chin implants placed through a small incision underneath the chin. The procedure can be done under local or general anesthesia. Since you're looking for more width than you are projection, the implant can be custom carved to suit your unique anatomy.
