Chin implant twitching & numbness

I got a chin implant a year ago 9/23. 2 mo. later I noticed the left wing of my implant was lower (underneath my jawline). Doctor said this was nothing to worry about. During my one-year apt. the doctor felt my implant to make sure it was still in place-he said it was. Since the apt. I'm experiencing spasms in my chin, numbness and tingling in my chin area, and pain when I eat hard foods. The doctor told me to wait this out to see if it resolves itself. It's been 3 weeks of symptoms.

An hour experience, when somebody has symptoms from a chin implant, it tends to occur soon after surgery. It's not clear why you are having symptoms a year after your procedure. Do you still feel your implant below the level of your jaw? If an implant is malpositioned, it could be pushing against a nerve. Adjustment or movement of a chin implant is not a terribly difficult undertaking. If your symptoms are bothering you a lot, other than an attempt at repositioning, removal of a chin implant is easy, and that should fix the problem. If they are not bothering you a lot, I would consider sitting tight for several months. Or consider getting a second opinion.

As a surgeon, if I ever have concerns about the positioning of a chin implant, and axial CAT scan of the Jawbone is an excellent test to show precisely where the implant is located.
