There is no such thing as scarless surgery. FUE harvesting method will leave a scar. Some people may scar less than others but they will still scar.
FUE can be used for facial hair restoration and is growing increasingly popular. FUE is similarly being used to restore eye brows in women. This is not scarless surgery. However, there is minimal scarring at the donor site (each harvest site leaves a small 1 mm punch scar). As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS) with experience in hair restoration.
Thank you for your question. I would recommend against harvesting hairs from the neck area to the face to fill in your beard as you will likely have small scars at your harvest sites. Hair can be harvested from the back of the scalp and yields a very nice result. The hair is dense enough in this area that the tiny scars that can be created are not visible. We have gotten excellent results filling in the beard area with this approach. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
Beard area may restored with HT.You may have a hair transplant surgery from scalp skin follicular units to beard area with FUE to have facial beard hair.I do not prefer neck hair because it may cause visible scarring .
It's certainly possible but there will always be some level of scarring in the donor area, which is unavoidable in any kind of surgery. Taking hair from the back of the head would leave the marks less conspicuous and make them much easier to disguise/cover with the rest of your hair.
Thank you for asking this question.Firstly, there is none technique which is practically scar-less. And yes, you can take hair from any body part, which can either be neck or usually back of the scalp. We would suggest to get it done from the back of the scalp as you would have enough hair to conceal the scars, even if you keep as short as half an inch of hair. Good luck! Regards, Dr. Amit Gupta
The neck has two problems for donor hair, (1) it is not permanent hair and (2) it tends to scar worse than any other area
It can be done, but the hairs from the donor area on the back of the head are a much better choice. I have attached a link that gives more details about an FUE beard transplant.
If you have issues after your surgery it is best to contact you doctor. In rare cases some people may experience hyperpigmentation which may last several months. Please follow up with your doctor.
If you are having issues after surgery, especially with "redness" you should contact your doctor to resolve the issue. It seems you are doing the right thing. Sometimes it takes time for the redness to subside.
You may dye your beard and go back to the gym 6 weeks after your beard transplant. There is no risk for the grafts anymore.
