I am 29 years old and very fit. I weigh 125 pounds and am happy with every other part of my body. For the past few years, I have become increasingly unhappy with my underarm area and unable to wear sleeveless or strapless clothes. It seems ridiculous from my shape and size so I am ready to do something about it! What are the price ranges for this procedure in Chicago and do you recommend any certain doctor?

SmartLipo or VASER lipo do very well to treat this, but you need a well trained physician to contour the chest and not just solely remove the fat pad.  Sometimes removing some arm and back fat along with the bra fat help improve the arm/chest contour and you can inject the arm fat into the breast to get lift/contour.  I suggest posting photos or seeing a true expert and do not compromise your care for cost or distance.  This is an area that can have bad complications and irregularities if not performed properly but someone who has a practice dedicated to this type of treatment. Best, Dr. Emer.

When a patient has accessory breast tissue or localized fat deposit in the axillary ( armpit) region, it can be a very big source of annoyance, especially in those who are very fit.  There are two ways to tackle the problem - either localized liposuction or direct excision.  Most start with liposuction to avoid any big scars, but there are some that need a formal excision.  I have found that ultrasound assisted liposuction works well and provides nice results for my patients.  Prices can vary widely, so the best thing to do is to go for a consultation and see what will work best for you.

An excellent way to remove axillary breast tissue is ultrasonic liposuction which has the energy required to remove the fat and breast tissue, and the heat can help with skin contraction in the underarm. The cost is about $2900, typical of liposuction procedure in the Chicago area.
