For outpatient liposuction the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) recommends a maximum of 5 litres of fluid removed during a liposuction procedure. Because some of this fluid will be the tumescent solution used to infiltrate the areas being treated the actual amount of fat removed will be less. If done in a hospital where you will be admitted afterwards and given IV fluids and carefully monitored more could be removed, but I would recommend having things done in a few separate sessions under 5L rather than take the risks associated with large-volume liposuction. Best of luck!
Because of variability in patient health as well as surgical skill a precise determination of the tolerable limits for liposuction one sitting is not been established. Most surgeons will voluntarily stop at four or 5 L but this is arbitrary to certain extent.
Hi. Here in Florida, we are limited to a total of 4 liters of "floating fat", which is a reasonable amount and safe to do in the appropriate patient.
It is best to limit removal per surgery at 4-5L to ensure safety. Meticulous skill and technique are required for contouring rather than just simple fat removal. Best, Dr. Emer.
The American Society of Plastic Surgery has stated that a maximum of 5 liters of aspirate can be removed with liposuction in a single sitting. Board Certified plastic surgeons who wish to remain a part of our society will not take more. In my practice, a typical suctioning session will remove about 2 liters.Good Luck!
it must be done by modern techniques like ultrasound and putting the patient in a rigorous diet and excersise regime since a couple of months before in order to get the maximum safety and guarantee of permanent results
The accepted and recommended amount os liposuction in a outpatient setting is 5 litters. The actual amount of aspirated fat is much less. If a patient needs more than 5 litters options are to do liposuction in stages or loose weight before liposuction.
Based on your photograph, you appear to have excess fat and, despite the ultrasound, you may have some breast tissue in your armpit. It is very common for women to have ancillary breast tissue in their armpits. This has to do with embryological development. There is a medical CPT code for removal...
I understand your concern, but I have never heard of hearing loss after ultrasonic liposuction. However, it sounds more like you had some sort of external ultrasonic treatment, still I don't know of any case of hearing loss after this either. If this was not an external treatment, a technician...
Sorry to hear about your troubles. It would be helpful to post before and after photos for comparison. I see lots of bruising, but lots of bruising may mean aggressive surgery, but not successful fat removal. Do you know how much fat was removed? Did you have a board-certified plastic surgeon?...
