Liposuctioned areas hurt 1.5 months after. Is it normal?

I had lipo on my abdomen and my sides 1,5 months ago and the whole area is still very tender, and it hurts (not a lot though, but enough to disturb me) when i touch it, and the area is hotter than the rest of my body. I also have dark spots that look like very faded bruises. Is it something to be worried about? I wore compression garment 24/7 for a whole month post op, can it still be seroma? If not, then what?

Pain can be variable for patients who have had liposuction. If necessary, this pain can be treated with anti-inflammatory medications and neurontin. If it persists, I recommend following up with your Doctor. It can take 3-6 months for final results with liposuction. I suggest lymphatic massage, hyperbaric oxygen, and RF treatments like venus legacy to help reduce any swelling. Swelling can persist for several months after liposuction. Frequently, patients will note that the area is tender to touch or feel a bit firmer than the surrounding tissues. If you feel "sloshing" like a water balloon, then it may be a seroma. This is something to bring to your surgeon's attention for evaluation.

This actually can be a common situation. Healing and softening of treated areas can take several months after liposuction. The best approach is to let your surgeon see how you are doing and help you along.
