Is it normal to have large bruising after Lipo on the stomach and flanks?

I had lipo on June 15th tummy and flanks. Is it normal to have large bruising on one side on your buttocks? I had a huge bruise that came from my right butt cheek that went up to my ribs area.. left side some bruising but not on left buttcheeck. Now that I'm healing I see my right cheek deflated or something

Bruising is common after liposuction and should resolve in several weeks. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling and improve healing. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Hello and thank you for your question. Bruising is quite normal after liposuction. Everyone bruises differently. Some bruise severely and some bruise minimally. It sounds like you bruised on the more severe end. I would wonder if you happened to be on any blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, advil, alleve, vitamin E, fish oils, green tea and even significant amounts of alcohol before surgery can thin the blood. People can also bruise asymmetric where one side bruises more than the other. It is difficult to get an idea of what is going on without seeing any photos and evaluating you in person. Bruising is normal after liposuction to the stomach and flanks. Without a photo it is very difficult to determine if the bruising is within normal range or not.

Thanks for your inquiry, but without  a picture or an exam it is hard to advise.  In general, bruising does occur after liposuction, but it is best you see your plastic surgeon to discuss.

Bruising after liposuction is caused by poor compression garment fitting. If it is not compressed, it will become swollen and be bruised.
