Kybella and laser hair removal on chin. Which would be best to do first?

Both Kybella and laser hair removal are safe treatments that can be completed around thesame time. Neither treatment should harmfully impact the other. Kybella does have some sideeffects that can make the neck and under-chin area temporarily sensitive, so you may wish tohave your laser hair removal completed before undergoing Kybella injections.Most patients need two to four Kybella treatments spaced one month apart beforeexperiencing optimal results. Kybella and laser hair removal on the chin are both wonderful procedures that will improve your looks and won’t affect one another at all as long as laser hair removal is done first on the same day. It  usually require a series for optimal improvement. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist will help you come up with the perfect schedule.

Dear OperationBecky,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office.  I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable.  It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MD

Keep in mind, both will require a series of treatments and some people need treatments to maintain results with laser hair removal. Also, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options like Kybella and some people need a series of treatments. I recommend Kybella with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is a great alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. Kybella is an injectable product that can be used to help your body to rid itself of fat cells that form under the chin (submental fat). Typically, patients need 3-4 rounds of injections, each one month apart. For more information, I recommend getting a in person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.

Both Kybella and laser hair removal are fine treatments for the neck. You would only use kybella 1 cm below the chin.  I would not combine the treatments in the same day. You certainly could have LHR one week and kybella the next. Which one you do first is completely dependent on what bothers you more. Personally, I would do LHR first but that is just me.

Yes, it is alright to have both Kybella and laser hair removal. Kybella is a treatment for the submental (underchin) fat. Good luck. 

You can absolutely do laser hair and Kybella at the same time since it is not in the same area. Kybella is done in the area under the chin (submental) and should not be a concern.  Please consult an expert in these cosmetic procedures.  Best, Dr. Green
