5 days after Kybella injections. How long till swelling subsides? (photo)

Swelling from Kybella can be pretty significant, and I tell patients to plan on 1-2 weeks of swelling.  To be swollen 5 days out is not at all unusual.  However, always confirm with your healthcare provider to ensure they are in agreement.  We do find swelling is typically less with each treatment, since there is a smaller number of fat cells for the product to work on.  Every patient varies, but swelling 5 days following a treatment is expected.

Healing can be variable, but it can take several weeks for swelling to resolve. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options like Kybella and some people need a series of treatments. I recommend Kybella with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is a great alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. Kybella takes 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Hope this helps.
