Had Kybella injected at jawline to get rid of jowls. They are quite swollen. It’s been 5 days. How long before swelling subsides?
Answer: Kybella swelling Swelling from Kybella can be pretty significant, and I tell patients to plan on 1-2 weeks of swelling. To be swollen 5 days out is not at all unusual. However, always confirm with your healthcare provider to ensure they are in agreement. We do find swelling is typically less with each treatment, since there is a smaller number of fat cells for the product to work on. Every patient varies, but swelling 5 days following a treatment is expected.

Answer: Swelling after Kybella & Results--add thermage, ultherapy, exilis, VASER, ThermiRF Healing can be variable, but it can take several weeks for swelling to resolve. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options like Kybella and some people need a series of treatments. I recommend Kybella with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is a great alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Swelling after Kybella? Resolves in several days Kybella takes 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Hope this helps.

Answer: Give it about 2 weeks Dear PattyCatherine, Some folks swell longer than 1week, especially after first treatment session. By the end of 2 weeks, swelling will go away. You may feel bumpy swollen areas which are not super visible. These are areas of inflammation leading to Permament destruction of fat cells!! Claritin like meds help bring down swelling. Best wishes! Dr B
