I have good news. Your welding will not damage your implants, so feel free to see a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation. Good luck!
After you've completely heal and in return to work the heat from professional welling should have no effect on the final outcome.
Great question. The implants are protected from external heat and shielded with your body's internal heat. The new 5th generation implants are really resistant to a lot of external sources including heat. I would be happy to explain your risk and benefits to you in person. Otherwise, good luck in the future with your breast augmentation.
Thanks for your question. If you can tolerate the heat environment, it is unlikely to be too extreme for your implants. They are protected by a layer of your own tissue.
Great question. Heat should not be a problem for your implants. Significant sweating during the initial recover period before your incisions heal could potentially raise your infection risk but once you have healed there is no reason for concern. Best of luck
Hi Dani,No concern whatsoever. I hope you have a successful surgery. Be sure to see only a board certified plasticsurgeon (by ABPS - The American Board of Plastic Surgery) who is a member ofASAPS (The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) and or a member ofASPS (The American Society of Plastic Surgeons). Also, ask if they have anestablished, high volume breast augmentation practice, performing severalhundred breast augmentations each year. Be sure the PS has been in practice fora while, 20-years or more might be a good gauge.Does the PS offer all three incisions?Discuss the implant type (gel or saline),shaped "gummy bear" or non-shaped, smooth or textured, implant pocket(over or under the muscle) and the "quick recovery approach."Ask to see their before and after photos ifyou didn’t see any on their website. If they are experienced, they shouldhave several 100 breast implant patients for you to view. I would alsorecommend that your doctor offer you the chance to talk to past patients whowould be happy to discuss their experience with you. You need to feelcomfortable, so make sure the environment is safe as in an accredited surgerycenter. Also, ask a prospective surgeon if he or she has ever published journalarticles in professional peer-reviewed journals, which they can provideyou. All the best, “Dr. Joe”
Over the long term, the extreme heat of welding should not be a problem for your breast implants. In the short term, I would probably recommend giving yourself two weeks to recover before going back to the job because I believe the physical nature of your work will make you very sore and could hurt the healing process. Finally, I would also recommend for that your first few weeks back at work that you take frequent breaks. During those breaks I recommend that you dry any sweat of your breasts that may have built up so that you prevent this sweat from sitting on the incisions and causing breakdown of the incisions. All of that being said, provided you are otherwise healthy, I think you could definitely have breast implants and hopefully have a great result. Best of luck!
No, external heat shouldn’t be an issue for your implants. But, like any other patient, in thepostoperative period be extra careful with lifting extra weight and follow yourpostoperative directions given to you by your doctor. However over time, the heat from weldingshould not make a difference for your implants.
Extreme heat is only a concern during the initial healing phase and only for your skin and not the implant. You should be able to have the surgery and return to your welding work without difficulty after you have healed. I would recommend having a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns in detail.
Thank you very much for your questions. In fact, silicone shelled saline or silicone implants are quite resistant to heat. Further, the implants are protected from outside elements such as heat by your body tissues. If your body can withstand the heat during work as a welder, then the implants will do just fine. Best Wishes.
There is no simple answer to this question. The weight loss does not change the implants themselves, but can change the breast shape. Work with a board certified Plastic Surgeon for your optimal outcome.
Adjustable saline implants have been around a while. It's not a bad idea, however, the implants are quite a bit more expensive than regular saline implants and it's hard to justify the extra expense.
Hello, in my opinion the best thing you can do to ensure a proper recovery is to take good care of your self postoperatively. If you are overdoing things and cause an injury it can significantly delay your healing.
