I had a tummy tuck 10 days ago and now I have bloody liquid coming out from a small hole. Doctor says it's seroma and that it will eventually stop. I had tummy tuck in Mexico. Should I be really concerned or just let the liquid work itself out?

Answer: Draining seroma This will need more attention. It may heal on it's own, but you will need close follow up with your plastic surgeon . . . if it gets infected, you could have a serious problem on your hands. Call your plastic surgeon ASAP to be seen.

Answer: Drainage doesn't look worrisome Thanks for your question and the photos. It is really hard to tell without examining you as to whether there is a large collection or not. The amount of drainage is not significant on the pad you showed. It is better for fluid to leak out than build up. As long as your abdomen is not increasing in size, there is no fever or redness, you likely will be fine. I cannot agree more with how frustrating medical tourism is. I just had to operate on a lady this week who had complications from a surgery in Mexico. This puts the surgeon in a very precarious position having to inherit complications that are not their own. Hopefully, you can find someone in your area who is willing to see you. Best of Luck!
