I had a rhinoplasty 3months ago and hate the results. Mydoctook down my radixa little bit and lifted up my tip a little bit. From 3/4 angle my radix/nose looks to close to my face and I hate it. Also, I had an nice contourednose before and now its just wide. The only thing that looks good is the tip.I want my old radix area back as well as the closeset of my eyes and want my bridge to stick out more and give me nice definition from the front. I basically want my old bridge back but no tip change.
Answer: Revision Rhinoplasty I would reccomend waiting at least 6 months before attempting a revision. Your radix and dorsum may improve as the tip swelling improves. The tip height and angle may change as swelling resolves which may improve the balance between your tip and your dorsum. If this does not occur, a cartilage graft to both areas can readjust. Best

CONTACT NOW Answer: Radix grafting in revision rhinoplasty The answer is you should wait a little bit longer, but once you are ready for surgery a radix graft should be very straight forward. Most patients are counselled to wait at least 6 months, but better yet one year. That allows the full contours to settle, and to let the skin calm down enough to tolerate a secondary procedure. The bridge can be rebuilt with cartilage, either taken from your septum, ear, or rib. Those are still preferred to "alloplastic" material like silicone or goretex for long term safety reasons. The decision to take cartilage from a certain site is based on ease of access, so it's usually septum ear rib in order. Whether that cartilage is used as a singular graft, crushed, or diced and refashioned into a rolled graft is up to the surgeons preference. Same with open vs endonasal approach

Answer: Is it hard to rebuild a bridge and radix in revision rhinoplasty? The surgery will require cartilage grafts from either the nasal septum, the rib or the ear. The ear cartilage is too soft and curved to be favorable for grafts in these locations. The best choice for you would require an in person consultation, and review of the surgical details of your previous surgery. You will need to wait a full year to undergo this revision to get predictable results, and even in the most experienced hands, cartilage onlay grafts can occasionally have visible edges and require revision. For now the best thing to do is wait and see.

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty to the radix Yes, it is possible to build up the radix with a cartilage graft with a revision rhinoplasty procedure. It is important to wait at least one year before undergoing the revision. Answer: Radiz and revision Unfortunately, you will likely need to wait a year or more before undergoing a revision rhinoplasty. The width is likely to improve as the swelling subsides.
