I live in Chicago and I had surgery in DR. I have a 3rd degree burn on my back and I may need surgery, cook county doctors say. As we all know, some doctors do not care for home remedies, such as aloe vera. Is this something that can heal on its own, with aloe vera and Platsul A? And does anyone know of any lawyers who practice outside of the country?
Answer: 3rd Degree Burn I'm sorry this happened to you. While the Dominican Republic seems tempting because of the low price, having surgery far away from home sometimes results in complications that need to be managed once you get home. One of the reasons medical tourism is cheaper is because a surgeon doesn't have to "price in" the cost of postoperative care. Not planning for the postoperative care, and scrambling to find a surgeon close to you (especially if there is a complication), can be stressful, and incredibly costly. You appear to have a very serious complication that needs to be managed by qualified plastic surgeons. This isn't something that will get better on its own at home with some lotion. Aloe is fine for a small sunburn. You have dead tissue that is at risk for a life-threatening infection if not treated appropriately. Continue to follow closely with your doctors at Cook.Because you are a US citizen (I'm guessing), you probably have no recourse to try and get compensation from the clinic in the DR (again, that's another reason why medical tourism places can charge less). You can help other patients by sharing your story with as many people as you can so others know the risks of medical tourism, and can weigh those risks when deciding how far to travel for their plastic surgery.

CONTACT NOW Answer: 3rd degree burn from Liposuction. Doctors say I may need surgery skin graft (That's going to hurt). What should I do? Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well.. This is the surgical procedure that revolutionized cosmetic surgery becoming one of the most performed cosmetic procedures. Subcutaneous tissue or fat is removed in order to contour the body in a way that is harmonious and pleasing to the senses. It can be performed in almost all regions of the body such as the neck, chin, abdomen, back, buttocks, thighs, arms and ankles. Usually done through a small incision in the skin through which a cannula connected to a vacuum is applied, it can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures. After liposuction your body is going to be really swollen for at least 2 to 4 months after your surgery. It is important for you to wear your compression garment for at least 6 months, the first 3 months 24/7 and then the last 3 months at least 12 hours per day for your body get use to not having the faja for so many time. When you remove it, your body can get swollen and also you can have pain. Remember to also compress your body to prevent a seroma which is an accumulation of liquid that has to be drained, it is hard to touch and also really painful. Bruises are completely normal for almost 3 months from surgery, that’s why is better for you to use a bruising cream and apply it all over your body 3 times a day. To prevent bad circulation and swollen legs, use compression socks. Brazilian butt lift can be performed with the same procedure and for a month it will be swollen and it will drop a little bit without losing it’s shape if you use your garment.. If you’re going to perform liposuction on your inner, outer, anterior, lateral, postetior thighs, be careful and consult with your surgeon what’s best for you, sometimes we have more extra skin than fat, that can cause severe sagginess on our legs, which can be only be reversed performing a thigh lift.

Answer: Burned after liposuction This is an unfortunate complication for which you now need to seek a board certified plastic surgeon in the US who is experienced in burns. This will not be cured with over the counter gels or topicals. You must be under the care of a Dr. for this as you're at risk for further complication if not treated appropriately. I have seen minor burns from ultrasound or laser liposuction but never to this degree.
