Will 800 CC UHP implants cause my nipples to point down? (Photos)

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  As you are so recently out from surgery your current results are not what you will “see” long term.  The swelling in your tissues is currently maintaining your implants flattened and “high” on your chest, artificially lowering your nipple position.  As your surgery matures you should see a rounding out of your lower breast tissue and an elevation in your nipple.  If you did not have a low nipple before your surgery, you should not have one afterward.  Hope this helps.

You are very early in the healing process.  Implants tend to distend down the chest wall and in particular larger implants.  Most likely, you will be thrilled with her results, but I would wait at least 2-3 months before making any kind of accurate decision. In a nut shell your only 2 days out from surgery. Your swollen and it’s so early to make any judgements. Patience is a virtue and it’s a necessity where you are currently in your recovery. Go and see your surgeon for emotional support.Best

Even with a revision, it still takes time for the pocket to relax and allow the implant volume to mold the breast itself.  If your nipples didn’t point downwards before, they really shouldn’t afterwards.  Just be patient and give yourself the proper healing time.  After three months, if you are unhappy, would be the time to address it with your surgeon.  I hope this helps.

Dear Blondie122,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 2 days  post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD

I understand your concern, but it is so early that you will need to let the early swelling resolve.  More than likely, your surgeon had to release some scar tissue, or capsule, to place the larger implants.  This can cause extra swelling and the new muscle tightness can cause some flattening with increased size in the upper part of the breast.  Address your concerns to the surgeon or his staff.  Make sure you get a good exam in the first week.   If dissatisfied, seek out another Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area.

It is much too early to judge the results after breast implants. Give it at least 3 months to allow for everything to settle. 

My best advice (although easier said than done): patience.  It is much too early to evaluate the outcome of the procedure performed.  The aesthetic outcome achieved with the revisionary breast surgery will depend greatly on exactly what was done during the procedure.   Therefore, your plastic surgeon knowing exactly what was done, will be your best resource when it comes to specific information, predictions,  and (hopefully) meaningful reassurance. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with longer-term.

Thank you for your question. Breast implants because the nipples to point down when breast implants are placed in a patient whose nipples lie below the fold under the breast to before surgery. If your nipples were above the fold underneath your breast before your breast augmentation and the risk of the nipples pointing down is less.
