Do breasts ‘drop and fluff’ at different stages? (Photo)

Question

Initially I was panicky about the size (495cc extra high profile) however almost 4 weeks post op, they are settling nice. I was worried as people say 495cc would give 3 cup sizes bigger and I was already a double D cup! My surgeon told me not to worry and that wouldn’t apply as he was just giving me the fullness I once had! True to form my normal bras fit me still, my boobs just look fuller!! My right breast still feeling higher and still feels hard at top, is this normal for D&F stage? X

It is not uncommon for implants to settle at different times. Typically speaking if you are right handed your pec muscle may be stronger	ighter resulting in the implant taking longer to drop or vice versa. Continue to follow up with your surgeon as directed. Regards,

hi there! What you are noticing is totally normal! The implants are not really 'dropping',  but the lower pole of your breast is actually expanding. As this occurs your upper pole fullness begins to diminish and the lower pole of your breast fills out.  Glad to hear that you are so happy!

Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure.The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource for accurate assessment, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance.
 
Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery. The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized.  Some degree of asymmetrical "settling" is commonly seen.  As you know, as the breast implants "settle", the lower breast poles will round out, and the nipple/areola complexes will sit higher on each breast mound.
In cases where significant breast asymmetry persists, the pros/cons associated with revisionary breast surgery (for example, capsulotomy surgery for an implant that is sitting too high or capsulorraphy for a breast implant that is too low) should be carefully considered prior to making decisions whether or not to undergo further surgery.

Congratulations on your breast augmentation.  Yes breast implants drop and fluff at different rates almost always.  In some cases the breast implant on the side of your dominant hand will drop a little faster because of the activity of the pectoralis muscle when opening doors and carrying out normal activities.  In addition 88% of patients have breast asymmetry and if one breast is larger or lower before surgery the implant on that side will drop quicker.
