Hi I had 415 CC silicone unders 7.5 weeks ago. One breast seems fuller and sits higher and the there is softer and hangs lower. Will I expect to see better symmetry as time goes by? I actually prefer the perkier one, but I know the droopier one won’t get perkeier haha.
Answer: Breast asymmetry Thank you for your question and photo. Preop pictures would be helpful, because I suspect that you started somewhat asymmetric, which is very normal. Your right breast footprint and nipple are lower than your left side and I suspect that your implants are centered behind the nipples. You will continue to see some settling of the implants, but really best to direct this question to your surgeon with discussion of your preoperative appearance. Best wishes.

Answer: Breast implants take a few months to fully drop and asymmetries may have be present before surgery After breast augmentation surgery there is often swelling and the implants tend to sit high on the chest. It takes a few months for this to fully resolve. I like to see patients back at three months to get their post-procedure pictures. I find at that time the implants have fully settled and nearly all the swelling is gone. At 7.5 weeks there's still some changes that will occur so I would recommend trying to be patient. There's also natural breast asymmetry that should be recognized. Everyone has slight differences between their breasts. It's just a matter of how hard you decide to look for it. I try to always point out the little differences between the breasts prior to surgery, only because they are there, and after surgery patient's will examine and notice any little differences. Preoperative asymmetries will be present postoperatively after a breast augmenation and sometimes they will be more visible. Everything is essentially magnified after an augmentation. The slight differences that are present now may be a function of normal healing, or may be the natural asymmetries that were present before surgery and you as the patient are recognizing them because you are critically evaluating your breasts in a way you never did before surgery. Minor asymmetries are normal and shouldn't be addressed but if there is something major that really bothers you then discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: The settling process does take time HEllo-It takes at least 6-10 weeks for the initial swelling to resolve and settling to occur-- and then this process continues over time, since the implant will be affected by gravity. Also perhaps your lower, less perky side was like this to start??? We all have some asymmetry! So the outcome is still evolving, but it may be that the lower side will stay this way. Good luck.

Answer: Almost 8 weeks post and breasts are still uneven Congratulations on your breast augmentation, your result looks very nice. It is important to understand that 80% of women have asymmetrical breasts before surgery and any asymmetry that exists before will persist after surgery. Check your preop photos and see if the right breast was larger lower of the nipple areola was slightly lower. If it was than this would explain the difference. If the breasts were perfectly symmetrical before surgery and waiting another 3-4 months for the implants to normalize would be your best option. Of course is best that you discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon in person.
