Will my implants settle further after 3 months?

Most patients see most of the significant changes in the shape and positioning of their implants by the 3rd month after surgery. The exception to this rule is patients with very tight skin envelopes. I think that you fit into this category and can still expect to see some significant softening of the breast skin and descent of the implants. This will recruit skin from your chest wall onto the breast and make the incisions appear to rise back up into the IMF. It could take another 3-6 months before you see your final results. The pressure band might help and can't really hurt, other than being uncomfortable. If the implants don't settle as much as you and your surgeon expected after about 6 months, you can decide if it is worth trying to gently lower your IMF.

It can take up to 6 months, but more common at 3 months, for the implants to completely drop. Keep wearing a band and doing implant massage. Good luck!

Your breasts will continue to change and the skin will stretch further. You should expect the appearance to change for at least 6 months after your surgery. As for the incisions, they look low based on the pictures posted but time will tell.Best,

Many thanks for posting your question.It appears from your pre-operative markings that the upper part of the planned pocket was fairly high. However, with time, things may continue to settle and improve.I would suggest you continued to follow the advice of your plastic surgeon. Unfortunately, these things can take many months before a final judgement can be made - even up to a year.Good luck with the future

Thank you for your question and photos. In my observation you are too early in your considerations, give it time to settle. Don't worry, 3 months post op is to soon to determine what your breasts will look like. At this time, what you are describing is normal. Be Patient, you should see final results within 4 to 6 months. Continue to follow instructions by your doctor and you will see a drastic change as they settle. It is important to stay compressed and wear a stabilizer bra that both supports and help push the breast into the area or choice. Best of Luck!

Your breasts can continue to change shape and drop anywhere from 3-6 months. Most patients settle nicely around the 3 month mark but because you were so small, it can take longer for this to happen. Continue to follow your surgeons instructions which may include massaging and the breast band which may help them settle quicker. ac
