Thanks for your question. I have seen very good result with my smart lipo technique. Although a tummy tuck would give the tightest skin, smart lipo is a strong option. I tell my patients the benefits of smart lipo are simpler recovery, ( no restrictions day #1), minimal scars and can be done in some cases with just oral sedation and numbing medicine. The down side is that smart lipo will not tighten the muscle layer, and the skin will tighten but not to the same degree that I can get with a tummy tuck. But if the skin is not tight enough after 6 months then later a tummy tuck or even a mini-tuck can get that extra tightness. Good luck John S Mancoll,MD
Hi there. Smartlipo is excellent for fat removal. Skin tightening occurs but the results vary depending upon your skin elasticity and response to the treatment. A tummy tuck, if you're healthy, would be best but Smartlipo will improve your abdominal contour. Be well. Dr. Burnett
