I want to get Smart Lipo on my stomach and back but I have vaginal piercing will I have too remove it?

Body piercings are routinely removed for procedures that utilize electrosurgical instruments. This is to prevent electrical burns. Lipo by any technique does not utilize this type of equipment and there is no need to remove them.

I do not think you need to remove it. Just like I wouldn't ask you to remove your earrings for the procedure. Good luck!

There is no reason why you should have to remove the piercing if you are having liposuction done in another area.  I suggest going to a well trained body contouring expert, someone who does many of these procedures yearly.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is definitely safer to remove your jewelry prior to undergoing s surgical procedure that requires the use of electrocautery. Smartlipo,however, is laser based technology. To minimize the chances of an errant mishap you should remove your jewelry. Dr. Burnett

Metal jewelry needs to be removed when the movie cautery is used if possible. It is likely that during liposuction it will not be necessary, but it is always best to ask your surgeon.
