43 year old female. For the most part happy and ok with my body except my stomach. Had lipo in 2018, mixed feelings on that procedure. Noticing some extra fat/rolls under my breast rib cage area. Lower tummy has cellulite. I don’t have cellulite anywhere else. Would like a flatter tummy but concerned about skin issues/laxity. Not sure if surgical or non surgical is the way to go.
Answer: Additional Liposuction Most people think that liposuction is intended for people with lots of excess fat. This isn’t necessarily true. Yes, Lipo will remove fat, but it is a BODY SHAPING procedure, not a weight loss procedure. This means that the best candidates are people who are in good shape and have a healthy lifestyle, BUT still have some “trouble” areas that do not respond to diet and exercise. So, yes, you can probably benefit from liposuction if you want to shape your waistline or any other area. There isn’t going to be a lot of fat removed, but that’s ok because targeted removal of a small amount of fat from the right places can make a big difference. Make sure to see an experienced board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in liposuction, since your case will take a high level of expertise.

Answer: Additional lipo? From your photos and description of your concerns it appears you would benefit from some additional liposuction to improve the abdominal contour. You can add Morpheus8 treatments as well to improve skin tone and texture. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

Answer: Evaluating the Need for Additional Liposuction Dear FlyingHi, Thank you for your inquiry and the provided details. Based on your goals and history, additional liposuction, specifically VASER high-definition liposuction, seems suitable. This technique can address residual fat and scar tissue effectively, particularly for repeat liposuction patients like yourself, and could be ideal if you're aiming for a more sculpted, athletic appearance. However, it’s crucial to be mindful of potential risks such as skin laxity and contour irregularities due to prior procedures and age. Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need further assistance in making your decision. Good luck! Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Bellesoma Method If you are concerned about the extra skin rolls around the rib cage then perhaps you should consider a breast lift. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. This will take care of the upper abdomen and may allow you to get by with a mini tummy tuck or liposuction. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
