I am having a BBL and breast implants done in Miami June 2017 and I am wondering how I should sleep. I don't want to mess up my results from either procedure. I know it's going to be challenging, but I need some ideas and recommendations.
Answer: Positioning The short answer is..."on your side."I frequently speak to patients about stacking procedures. This is often undertaken as a matter of convenience but also for cost savings (single facility and anesthesia fee). As long as it is safe, combining procedures is a reasonable strategy. However, what is often overlooked, is how stacking procedures will affect one's recovery post operatively. Multiple procedures, at the very least, intensifies the recovery period (more pain, more healing). It is important to give some consideration to the specifics of recovery as some procedures are more complimentary than others. A breast procedure will require a period of back-sleeping (supine), while a buttock procedure will preclude back-sleeping in favor of belly-sleeping (in order to mitigate pressure on the surgical site). Thus positioning can be a challenge, in this case precluding both belly and back sleeping. With regards to your specific question, side-sleeping is your best option. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified (ABPS) plastic surgeon.

Answer: Sleeping I recently preformed a breast procedure paired with a BBL on my OR Manager. From her experience, with sleeping, it has been best to purchase a wedge and round pillow from the company called Happy Booty Pillow. They also have the pillow that allows you to sit as well. These pillows are just firm enough to keep your butt from touching the bed/chair, but they are soft enough to not cause any discomfort. I do not recommend sleeping on your chest or side. With all of my BBL's we do inject down the lateral thighs to give my patients that hour glass figure. As that area is injected with fat too, you do not want to put pressure onto that area either. It is a hard recovery staying off of your buttocks, but it is well worth it! I wish you the best of luck and results.

Answer: Sleeping after BBL and breast procedure I have done combination of BBL and breast surgery many times. Patients usually sleep best in a recliner the first 2-3 nights. The recliners are shaped in a way that relieves pressure on the buttock in that there is extra space behind the buttock. After 2-3 nights they return to bed and sleep side to side. Good luck.

Answer: How do I sleep after a BBL and breast implants? Thank you for sharing your question. You will want to specifically address this with your surgeon as they know the full details of your upcoming procedure but I would advocate sleeping on your sides with a body-pillow for comfort. You will need to continually adjust side to side for comfort and to not cause healing issues to your fat grafts or breasts. Hope this helps.

Answer: How to sleep? Best advice has already been given - consult your plastic surgeon and ask them what they would prefer given the procedures you've had done. I am sure they will be able to assist you.
