Tummy tuck that creates very small waist, is there a name for that?

Unfortunately, you
have not provided any photographs but often the limiting factor in making a very
small waist is intra-abdominal fat. 
Attempts to tighten external abdominal wall will compress the internal
fat, raising the diaphragm, which interferes with breathing.  However, if that is not your situation, the
technique I recommend is abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement combined with
liposuction.  The key feature of an
abdominoplasty is not tightening the muscles but tightening the lining of the
muscles, which is called the fascia. 
After the fascia is tightened I will reinforce this with mesh to create
a more hourglass figure.  Liposuction of

Of course there is a limit to your waist size that is determined genetically and you must be at ideal body weight. The surgeon helps by doing liposuction in the muffin top areas to give you more of an hourglass figure. The tummy tuck removes skin, fat, and provides muscle tightening that also helps cinch the waistline. I am not aware of a name for a specific procedure that reduces waist size but any such procedure will make use of liposuction and a tummy tuck. It is important for the surgeon not to be too aggressive with the liposuction because this can leave contour deformities that are difficult to correct. Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Though there is no recognized name for this much of the results of your procedure are based on your underlying muscle and bone anatomy with the best results obtained with tightening of your stomach muscles, helping to achieve a flatter and more narrow appearance, while liposuction can enhance your tummy tuck results by contouring the overlying adipose tissue to remove isolated areas of diet and exercise resistant fat.  Hope that this helps.

Dear Housecat,   There is no name for it. It is just good  and tight  abdominal muscles plication during the tummy tuck surgery. So if it is important to you, do your due diligence carefully and choose your surgeon wisely.   You have to realize that not all results are the same, because experience, technical skills and aesthetic eye are critical for good outcome.   Always, consult with experience board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with flat stomach, tight and youthful looking skin, nice belly button, narrow waists, improved body posture and low scar.                        Best of luck,                                          Dr Widder

question. An hour glass shape can be achieved with a tummy tuck by a combination of muscle plication and lateral flank liposuction.  In the appropriate patient, this can be done
through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line.  The belly button can be designed to look
natural and have no scars on the exterior.  
Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.  The most important
aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek
consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate
you in person.

Yes, a good one!  Seriously though, a tummy tuck should be able to remove excess skin, fat, tighten muscles and restore your underlying waist line.

A tummy tuck combined with waist liposuction can narrow  it a bit. You will be limited by your underlying skeletal and muscular anatomy.  

Thank you for your question.  There is no specific, generally recognized name for that.  A combination of a tummy tuck with liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and hip rolls (some people call it "360 lipo") may help to create the shape in some people, combined with some fat grafting of the buttocks to create more shaping can be performed in select patients with excellent results.  Hope that helps.

Two things will help to produce a tight waist during an abdominoplasty.  First, plication of the muscles draws the waist in, and some physicians are more aggressive than others.  Second, some liposuction can be performed to help contour the soft tissue.  There are some limitations to both.  If this is your goal, consider having a formal consultation with a BCPS to discuss your candidacy and emphasize to your surgeon what you hope to achieve.  Best of luck!

There are several adjunct things that can be done to a tummy tuck to make the way smaller. Sometimes it's necessary to not only tighten the muscles vertically but also angularly upward parallel to the external abdominal oblique muscles. Also, although not commonly done, some people would recommend removing a few of the lowest ribs. Certainly, liposuction of the flank and around to the hips would create more of an hourglass shape. Ask your chosen plastic surgeon what they would recommend for you to achieve thta goal. Hope that's heplful.
