Anyway to make Dysport wear off faster?

Yes, I am aware that many people do it but then many people also watch the Kardashians on cable-that does not make it right.Unfortunately, there is not way to speed up the recovery of your lip function.  The rate of recovery seems to be related to dose.  The smaller the initial dose, the more rapid the recovery.  Based on the description of your symptoms, I suspect that you got a bigger dose than you realize.  Do not have service from this injector again.  If the injector is not a licensed physician, I recommend you report the practice to the California Medical Board to help protect others from having this service.  I would not let this injector do more treatment on you.  There are no additional injectors that will counter balance these effects.  Tincture of time is what you need.  Yes the treatment effect may last many months.  This can be very depressing and it is some times helpful to work with a mental health professional to deal with the emotional trauma caused by this episode.I hope your recovery is speedy.

Hello,It is important that your provider explains what possible side effects to expect prior to injecting into this area.Commonly used for lip flips or combating smokers lines, injection into the orbicularis oris, (the muscle surrounding the lip) relaxes and can cause trouble with certain pronunciations, drinking through straws, whistling, etc.Unfortunately, there is no way to "dissolve" Dysport. You will have to wait until the effects wear off over time.Other treatments like dermal filler or HIFU can help to reduce and soften the lines by your upper lip and will not cause any paralysis to the muscle. Always ask about alternative treatments that are available!

Dysport typically lasts for 3-4 months in most patients.  The effects will gradually wear off.  There is no way to remove, or dissolve the Dysport. In many cases, issues like significant muscle weakness around the mouth will get better long before the injections totally wear off. I tend to avoid injecting Botox and Dysport to certain areas around the mouth in order to avoid these types of issues. I find that the mild cosmetic benefits are often not worth the risk.
I also always recommend speaking with the doctor who injected you with any questions or concerns.

Time will improve your situation. If you want things to wear off faster, you may actively exercise your lip muscles to dissipate the effect of the neurotoxin. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. The only thing you can do is wait out the effects. This can take about 4 months or so.

I am sorry that you did not achieve a satisfactory result following your Dysport injections.  Unfortunately there is no way to hasten the resolution of Dysport effects.  There does seem to be some dose-dependency on the duration of effect so if only a small amount was used the duration of effect should be relatively short.  Best of luck.

There really is nothing you can do to make Dysport wear off faster.  Since you mentioned you just had a small amount injected on each side of your upper lip, it is likely that it will wear off sooner than 3 months though.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to make dysport wear off faster. Dysport typically last 4-6 months depending on area injected, the upper lip does get more movement than the upper face so it might wear off quicker (fingers crossed since you are unhappy). I do advise all my patients that the first time having this area injected for the first couple of weeks it will feel very awkward and you might have some difficulty when drinking through a straw, using mouth wash, etc, only because the dysport is kicking in and you are not use to these muscles being so relaxed. This should not be permanent or last long.However you shouldn't experience issues with chewing. Only a small amount should be injected typically 5 units above upper lip, and the newness of this area being softened will not feel as uncomfortable as it did the first 2 weeks. Most patients become very accustomed to it after the first initial injection of this area and do not even notice the trouble's they had with said first injection at their second and third visit. I am sorry you are unhappy as this treatment really does help soften the lines around the lips. If you would like alternate treatments you could try Radio Frequency and or Fillers for resting lines to help improve them as well. Best of luck to you.
