Can lip filler migrate to upper lip area? Will dissolver leave gaps in my upper lip area? (photos)

It is unlikely that your filler migrated. That being said, if you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  A thicker dermal filler such as Juvederm is unlikely to migrate after injection, and if it can be felt in the lighter color skin of your lip it was most likely due to injection error.  Correction would require dissolving it with hyaluronidase or allowing it to dissolve naturally. Hope this helps.

Fillers can spread from time to time, but with an advanced injector that should not happen. I would recommend Hyaluronidase which will dissolve the filler in that area. 

Thank you for your question. Fillers do not migrate however, they can spread to unwanted areas when injected. You can have this dissolved with an enzyme known as hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with your results. Please see an expert injector for the best results. Best of Luck!

I would recommend having Hyaluronidase injected to remove some of the filler. If you don't get good results I recommend to get a second opinion.

You obviously didn't look like this before filler. I would have doubts about this injectors abilities. Filler spreads somewhat but this is beyond the normal spread of an injected filler. I would get it dissolve with hyaluronidase. Your lips have lost their normal architecture and the anatomy is blurred. 

Hi there, I would recommend that if it has been more than 2 weeks go see your injector immediately.  You can have Juvederm dissolved with Hyelenex, but I would recommend a set of  "after" photographs so that you can see exactly  what you looked like before and what you look like right now. Lip augmentation is a procedure where filler is injected into the lips to increase volume and enhance the borders of the lips. Proper technique is important to achieve a natural result. I prefer to think of it as lip enhancement instead of augmentation as it is very easy to inject too much volume.  The Juvederm and Restylane fillers used in the lip are not known for migrating to other areas. Pokes and passes beyond the boundaries of the lip can result in fullness outside your lipstick lines. This can be dissolved. It may take a few sessions. I would discuss your options with your doctor to decide what would be safe and appropriate for you. Safety comes first. 

Thank you for your question and photos. It is unlikely that the Juvederm migrated after the injections. It is a very viscous gel and will stay in place after it is injected. It is possible that the filler was injected in an undesirable area. It is unlikely the filler migrated, it may have been injected that way.  If you want it removed, then hyaluronidasse should help.
