Uneven 6 weeks after liposuction. Is this normal? (Photo)

Hello and thank you for your question.It is far to soon to judge your liposuction results. It can take 12 months to see your final result post liposuction. Unevenness is very common in the weeks and months after the procedure. My advise is to have some patience and try not to worry about it just yet.

Liposuction results take at least 3-6 months to fully settle. At this point, I recommend that you see your doctor and review your concerns.I hope that helps and best regards, Dr. Sapijaszko.

Residual swelling liposuction may persist for up to 6 months, please be patient.  The garments are of no use this far after the procedure.

Thanks for sharing your photos.  From your photos, you can tell that there has been reduction on your fat and overall improvement in your contour.  Your descriptions of swelling and flat at first week and more visible lumps and dents at 6 weeks post-op are fairly common.  Immediately after the surgery, due to swelling, you would not have noticed the contour irregularities.  As you lose the swelling, the lumps/bumps/skin irregularities will become more obvious.  With time and massaging, the areas of lumpiness will get softer and will improve somewhat.  Your final liposuction result may take up to 6 months.  At 6 months, if you are still concerned about contour and skin irregularities, you may require touch-up liposuction.  Please share your concern with your plastic surgeon. 6 weeks after lipo is still very early. You should definitely talk to your PS but also try massaging the areas.

Lumps and unevenness for several months after liposuction is not uncommon.  It can take 3 - 6 months for all of the swelling to subside before you can see your final results.  hang in there.

It's too soon to tell. You should massage the area on a regular basis (and be sure not to smoke). Wait another 4-6 weeks and you should see some improvement in your unevenness.It takes time for the swelling to go away and for the skin to fully contract.

You will be fine.  Many liposuction patients experience this unevenness and it dissipates with time.  It is caused by the swelling in the tissue between the abdominal skin and the muscle fascia.  Massage helps speed this precess of resolution to an extent.  The massage is gentle common sense massage.   This can be lymphatic massage and it helps but does not eliminate the lumps totally.   They will  come back.  Time and healing is the answer.   We have tried the abdominal board but the patients tend to find this quite uncomfortable.    My Best,  DR C
