I had chin liposuction 3 weeks ago- with stitches and I’m still seeing a swollen patch here that’s also a tad uneven. It remains hurtful to touch. Does this look like it will still improve or am I going to have to go back for additional work?

Answer: Disaster 3 weeks following submental liposuction? Assuming you have had surgery performed by a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon with considerable facial liposuction experience-you have nothing to worry about. Liposuction in the short term is quite traumatic to the surrounding tissues of the neck-and quite typically it will take at least 6 months for swelling to subside, and allow you to see your new, improved upper neck. It is common to see some degree of asymmetry in the first 3 months-just give it time for the neck tissues to settle down as you anticipate a sensational result !!

Answer: Possible residual fat or swelling Thanks for sharing. It could be post op swelling or residual fat left behind. If the size has not gone down much since surgery than it is likely enough fat was not removed. It isn't a big deal if it is, as the fat can be suctioned again but I would wait 6 months to get the residual swelling to go down, scar tissue to soften, and the skin to contract. Keep follow up with your surgeon.
