I had chin liposuction 3 weeks ago- with stitches and I’m still seeing a swollen patch here that’s also a tad uneven. It remains hurtful to touch. Does this look like it will still improve or am I going to have to go back for additional work?

It looks like you just have some residual swelling in the area that should resolve with time and light massage. If it does not go away then a steroid shot in the area usually helps. Be patient!

3 weeks is very early from surgery. It takes 4-6 months to see your final results. Ask your surgeon should you be wearing a compression band to help with the swelling.

Thank you for your question.  Swelling from liposuction can take 6-8 weeks to decrease, with final results around 6 months.  I would recommend following up with your surgeon for an in person examination to ensure proper healing.  Best of luck.

Assuming you have had surgery performed by a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon with considerable facial liposuction experience-you have nothing to worry about.  Liposuction in the short term is quite traumatic to the surrounding tissues of the neck-and quite typically it will take at least 6 months for swelling to subside, and allow you to see your new, improved upper neck.  It is common to see some degree of asymmetry in the first 3 months-just give it time for the neck tissues to settle down as you anticipate a sensational result !!

Thanks for sharing. It could be post op swelling or residual fat left behind.  If the size has not gone down much since surgery than it is likely enough fat was not removed.  It isn't a big deal if it is, as the fat can be suctioned again but I would wait 6 months to get the residual swelling to go down, scar tissue to soften, and the skin to contract.  Keep follow up with your surgeon.
