Why did my dorsal hump suddenly grow?

If you bumped or injured your nose it could give your nose the appearance of growth due to swelling. Sudden growth may indicate underlying pathology in the nose and I would recommend an evaluation by an otolaryngologist. Rhinoplasty surgery can alter the cosmetic appearance of your nose if you find there is no underlying condition.

Dorsal humps that appears within a week would first need a thorough internal and external nasal evaluation before considering treatment.  There are number of etiologies for a new onset nasal bump, and it is important to determine the cause before being able to consider the appropriate treatment.

This hump does not grow rapid unless you bumped your nose and have swelling.    This could be and it will dissipate.    Dorsal humps are congenital and grow slowly.   Possibly you just didi not notice the progress.   At any rate reduction is possible.    My Best,   Dr Commons
