Hello darling,Asthma isnt a contraindication for plastic surgery, as long as it is controlled and you get a clearance from your pulmonologist first.Make sure you get the surgery with a board-certified plastic surgeon.Best of lucks.Dr. Luis Mejia.
Hello! Thank you for your question. Asthma not necessarily makes you ineligible for Plastic Surgery. Your Doctor will make sure you are healthy before surgery. I personally require an evaluation by a Pulmonologist and a Stress Test.
Usually, before having any cosmetic procedure, the surgeon will require pre-op medical check-up, during which you will be asked questions about your medical history, medication you are taking, ask for further information about your asthma, they will also check your blood pressure and also send you for blood tests to make sure that you are fit and healthy, and able to undergo this procedure. The results then will be reviewed by the surgeon and the anaesthetist, they will then determine if it is safe for you to go ahead with the procedure. However, if you are considering to have these procedures together you need to think about your recovery- you won't be able to sit on your buttock at least 3 days, however it will also be difficult for you to lie on your stomach as you will be after the tummy tuck, so it might be good to consider doing these procedures in two stages.
In a patient whose asthma is well managed or has not been symptomatic for a long period of time, this combination can be performed. If you decide to stage the procedures, have the lipo 360 and BBL first, followed by the TT about six months later. I would get input or clearance from the managing physician.
Dear ranossamantha736,your asthma should be under control and you will need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Please talk to your primary doctor to get clearance for plastic surgery and then I suggest you book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals. Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
Your asthma should be well-controlled before having elective surgery. Which of the decision making has to do to what degree you have asthma? For example if you have been in the emergency room with life-threatening asthma multiple times that elective surgery could be an iffy situation. If you simply use inhalers occasionally during allergy season then it should be a non-issue.Please discuss with your plastic surgeon during consultation.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Unfortunately, without pictures, it is very difficult to give you a proper answer. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be...
Hello dear! Thanks for the pictures and provided information as well. Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for liposuction with a BBL and a tummy tuck, to give you a nice tight tummy and to get rid of the extra skin, and I think you'll get very good results. Liposuction allows your...
If those areas concern you, I’d recommend having those areas treated as well. It’ll give your surgeon more fat to work with for the fat transfer portion of the procedure. You’re quite thin, so it’s a good idea to harvest from wherever you can!
