I guess I am do a Tummy tuck later if I'm absolutely unhappy with my abdomen but I just want better proportions. Would you say I'm a better candidate for bbl w/ lipo 360 vs Tummy tuck ? I'm in California but trying to save money in a BBL I know it's a bit cheaper cost wise to go Florida . Also I've heard that CA has a limit on how many CC's of fat they can take out ? Is this true ? I want ALL my stubborn fat gone !!!! I'd like more hips and better figure all around :/ I'm almost 40 and wishing I would have done this a long time ago . Anyone that's had bbl pls give me any and all advice pls

Answer: BBL A maximum of 5L of fat can be removed at once. You would likely benefit from ultra high defintion tummy tuck and BBL. The tummy tuck procedure would comprehensively remove excess skin and fat in the abdominal region. The abdominal muscle would also be 'tightened' to create the appearance of a flatter stomach. The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a tummy tuck specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: BBL versus tummy tuck and fat limits Florida has the most restrictive fat removal limits especially in combined procedures. Five L of fat removal which is the standard in California is sufficient to treat the entire tour so on a patient up to about 160/-170 pounds. If someone weighs more than that then they typically need more than one operation to get ideal outcomes. I typically view the torso as a single anatomic unit and do not recommend the spot treating the torso or partially treating the torso. doing so leaves people with an unnatural fat distribution that looks like someone’s had incomplete or partially done Liposuction. A full tour so includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles, waist, back and armpits or under arm area. For patients heavier than 170 pounds a decision needs to be made if the fat should be removed evenly throughout the entire full torso stopping at 5 L or if each area should be treated to completion stopping with some areas untouched. The second scenario obviously requires two procedures. I do all my liposuction and fat transfer procedures as office based procedures with patients awake using local anesthesia with mild sedation. Coming back a couple of days later to finish up the Liposuction isn’t the most fun but it’s not that big of a deal. It’s certainly a lot less cumbersome than a scheduled operation in the operating room. I do not recommend traveling for elective surgical procedures. Patients do not appreciate the importance of in person consultations, that complications actually do happen and how many people have questions after and need revisions. Follow up and continuity of care is a corner stone in quality medicine. You look like a very good BBL candidate. The results will be striking when viewed from behind and on the side. From the front you will appreciate the fat transfer but your abdomen will look similar just smaller. Skin laxity does impede potential results for both fat transfer and liposuction. It looks like your skin laxity is purely pregnancy related and it’s limited to your front. For patients who have enough fat and are considering a tummy tuck as a separate procedure from a BBL I generally steer people towards having the tummy tuck first. The primary reason for this is that liposuction and fat transfer is more predictable and gives better results with tight skin.liposuction also creates scar tissue that is less pliable and limits how much skin can be removed with the tummy tuck. Many plastic surgeons recommend the opposite for different reasons. I think it’s fine to move forward with the BBL first and see how you feel. If you know you want a tight flat abdomen then I would recommend tummy tuck first followed by BBL. mini plastic surgeons will recommend doing them as a combined procedure. That may be a reasonable option for you as well. Generally I steer people towards not combining too much surgery especially big procedures. Regardless, you look like a very good candidate for both procedures and as long as you find a good provider you should be happy with the outcome. Finding the best provider is probably more important than any other decision including which procedure and what combination you choose. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
