If the scar is the only thing bothering you, it can be fixed, but it will require advancing the skin, so it's more than just a scar revision. You can also be more sculpted with liposuction as well to enhance your result.
there are a lot of different forces that are in plain when you start to close a tummy tuck. As plastic surgeons, we always strive to ensure the most favorable scar placement occasionally some unevenness can manifest itself after surgery surgery. Generally, you do not need to perform another tummy tub. I would recommend recommend a combination of liposuction with scar vision. The liposuction will improve what appears to be some difference in the fat about your incision versus the incision and it also will give the skin mobility to be able to close the incision with less tension which will hopefully lead to better scarring.
If the waviness of the scar itself is the most bothersome to you, a simple scar revision may be the only thing needed. I recommend seeing your surgeon or another board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss all of your concerns to ensure that you are getting the final result you desire. Good luck!
Dear leeza92407,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Abdominoplasty scars can be quite complex, ranging from the simple hypertrophic scar to a multiplane inflamed keloid. Pigmentation, discoloration, chronic inflammation, scar visibility can all occur in the short term. We begin each treatment with combination therapy using Yellow broadband BBL, Vbeam, fractional erbium, intralesional IIT, and scar modulation. Start with a combination of Plato's Scar Serum massaged twice daily after one week of epithelialization followed by Luminase/Exfolase. Scar consultation and revision may be recommended. I think a scar revision or a partial tuck on that side can be done to help improve the appearance. Go back to your surgeon and discuss your concerns and options.
From the posted photo it appears a revision would improve your result. A scar revision can be performed to improve the shape and appearance of the scar. Liposuction can help to further sculpt your curves. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.
Dear Leeza,There are some asymmetries in your tummy tuck scar. You appear to have scoliosis as well. Since we don't have pre-operative photos to compare to, we will have to assume that you have a nice result. At any rate, a scar revision might be all that you need. Good luck!
Based on your one post photo, the outcome of your tummy tuck is not acceptable with placement of scar and type of scar. I recommend a full revision with liposuction waste and flanks in combination with the full tummy tuck scar revision fee $8000-$15,000.. Best virtual consult with.
Hello and thank you for your question and your picture. Although it is best to examine you in person, based on your photo it seems you may benefit from a revision of your scar and lower abdominal contour. I recommend you see a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in body contouring and can help guide you in the process. Best wishes!
Dear checks, A couple of quick issues; we do not know how long ago the lingerie photo was taken; there is a front part of the lingerie that may be contributing a compressive effect; your posture is different in the lingerie photo; you may indeed be "sucking in" on the lingerie photo without even...
I do not see the vertical scar in your photo, so I don't think you had a FDL tuck but more like and extended tuck. If the vertical component was added, more skin could be removed. With such weight loss, the vertical component or back surgery is needed to removed excess skin. It is difficult to...
And your pictures I see that there is some excess fat, a slight unevenness of the scar with a downward extension towards the sides and small dog years. My recommendation for repair would be to perform a liposuction and scar revision of the two sides of the scar. Liposuction will help improve the...
