Hello, I had a reverse T tuck 5/2022. My section above the belly button seems looser than below and when I sit, it puckers. It’s been like this since I had my procedure but I’m told nothing can be done. Any recommendations

It appears that you still have skin laxity in vertical and horizontal aspect of your abdomen. Skin excision in both directions would help. You should discuss this issue with your surgeon. Good luck.

I understand your concern. Generally speaking, you will always have some skin puckering when you sit down. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

An in person evaluation is best but it appears the best way to improve the contour of your abdomen is to excise the excess skin either horizontally or vertically.  I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.

The reverse tuck is limited as you can now see. However, the excess vertical skin can be excised with a vertical incision and still be safe to the blood supply of the skin. The scar would go up higher than the tuck. You could also try minimally invasive skin tightening like Renuvion.

I'm not sure why you're being told that there is nothing that can be done?   There are almost always things that can be done.   In your case, that vertical roll can easily be fixed with a minor in office skin resection, using your existing vertical scar.   This will tighten the scar in the horizontal direction.   If you're looking for tightening in the vertical direction, that would involve either a Reverse Tummy Tuck revision or a full Tummy Tuck.   There are definitely options.
