Is this normal to feel at week 2? I also have mondors cord. Will the rope thing dissipate? Is there I can do to reduce or help it heal? What dose of vitamin E is recommended?
Answer: Firm incision on breast Thank you for your question and photos. Your incisions appear perfectly normal for 2 weeks post-op. There will be a "healing ridge" or scar along the incision line. This may take several months to flatten back out, but it will. Scar massage is very helpful to soften it more quickly. While vitamin E does not hurt, there is no evidence that it is beneficial. Silicone products are much more helpful. Best of luck.

Answer: My incision site feels like there is a small rope all along the site At two weeks time, one would expect there to be some swelling along the incision. There may also be sutures under the skin which ultimately dissolve. Your surgeon will be able to tell you if this is the case. It is in general good technique to have an incision be slightly raised initially because as scar forms it tends to flatten. However, if there is any concern, visit to your surgeon for a check is always a good idea.

Answer: Thick early scar Yes , this is normal. The body will produce scar tissue ( collagen) over the first few weeks to heal the wound. The scar will then begin to soften over the next few months as a normal part of the healing process.
