5 weeks post op, How long should I wait for sexual activity after Breast Augmentation?

The average patient is ready to be touched at around 6 weeks. Sensitivity to pain or pressure at this stage is very individualized. Squeezing the breasts will not rupture the implant but excessive force around them at this stage does have the potential to move them. Make sure you visit with your surgeon and get the 'go ahead' and have she/he answer any questions and address your concerns. That said, you are well on your road to recovery and resuming normal activity is expected.  

You should be ready to return to sexual activity not earlier than 2 weeks, if you feel comfortable. Intimate contact with breast should be avoided until healing is fully completed, that usually means 6 weeks.There may be some specific details of your specific post-operative regiment, which should be clarified with your own plastic surgeon.

Your plastic surgeon will give you the best answer in your specific case about this and sex. For most of my patients I allow sex to begin at 6 weeks with the woman on top to minimize the risk of trauma. Here are some of the guidelines I give my patients following breast reduction: Following surgery, you will be walking in a bent-over position to keep tension off the newly tightened skin incision site. Although strenuous activity, and lifting more than twenty pounds, must be avoided for 6 weeks, some people can return to work and daily activities as soon as 2 weeks after surgery. Softening of the surgical scars, return of sensation, and improvement of shape may take several months to a year or more. Light activity is comfortable in 10-20 days. Thank you for your question. I generally recommend waiting until all the swelling is down before engaging in sexual activity. So typically two weeks would be fine. However, I would not recommend a lot breast manipulation as part of your sexual activities until you are closer to six weeks.

I think as long as you are not too rough with your breasts, you should be fine to engage in intimacy at this point.  It's always best to check with your surgeon.  Good luck

Each surgeon has their own guidlines when it comes to postoperative care. You should adress this question with your chosen surgeon. Best of luck. 

After five days to a week you will be able to resume sexual activities as long as it's not rigorous. However, it's better to ask your surgeon for their advice. More info can be found on our google plus page.

This is a question best directed at your own plastic surgeon. However sexual activity can cover many different levels of activity. Your breast will clearly have to be out of the line of fir until healing is complete.e

I advise my patients that they can resume sexual activity after the first week as long as the breast are not handled in a rough way or extreme pressure. There are different positions that one can figure out that allows this activity. In your case you have anatomical implants that need time to heal in place and that takes about 3 months. I would tell you to figure out positions where your breast are not compromised and hold off on the physical squeezing and rough play for at least 3 months. Ask your PS this specific question please.

Most of my patients resume sexual activity after breast augmentation in 3 to 4 weeks with a more passive approach. After 4 weeks a more active approach is usually OK. Massage of the implants is recommended as soon as the breasts are not tender. However some implants Gummy Bears may need a full six weeks to adhere in there position. Although my experience allows for 4 weeks of full recovery and resumption of all activities, some surgeons feel six weeks or more is needed. The quality of your healing wound would influence the plastic surgeon's decision. Your plastic surgeon would know best. Can your BF be trusted to understand you may be tender with certain amorous touching? If it feels good do it !
