This morning at 11am I had 1 syringe of volbella to enhance lips, and they looked fine after. Swelling wasn't too bad. Now, there is slight bruising and a very visible lump on the right upper side of lip! I'm so upset...this is my first time having any type of procedure done. My doctor hasn't called back yet so I'm asking for opinions on here please. Is this maybe just swelling and bruise from injection site maybe it will go away or over use of product ? Or something else?
Answer: Lumps After Volbella It is very normal and expected to have swelling and bruising after an injection. It would almost be abnormal if there was no swelling or bruising. That visible lump is due to a small bruise. It will subside in about 2-4 days. Applying ice for the first 72 hours, taking Arnica Montana homeopathic pellets, and eating pineapple (Bromelain) will help bring the swelling down and the bruising to subside faster. The lips will completely settle by 2 weeks. So, if there is anything you are not happy about, follow up with your injector 2 weeks after your injection. Good luck and enjoy your beautiful lips!

Answer: Lump after Volbella I am sorry that you are bruised and "lumpy" after filler injections into your lips. I certainly hope your provider made you aware that this is a possibility when needles are put into the lips. The fact that there is a bruise makes me think that the lump is fluid associated with the bruising and that it will likely go away in 5-7 days. You can gently hold ice to the area 4-5 times a day for the first three days in order to help the bruise go away more quickly. In addition, applying arnica cream 4 times daily can help.Volbella is a very thin filler, so lumps are not usually a problem with it. However, if the bruise completely goes away and there is still a lump there, you should certainly follow up with the injector.
