Hi and thank you for your question. Unfortunately your pictures did not come through so I cannot truly comment. There are multiple options, surgical and non-surgical, available to you. Currently there are a variety of instruments that can help tighten skin or melt/freeze fat in this area. In terms of injectable treatments patients can now elect for Kybella should subcutaneous fat be the main problem for you. In my practice I do perform a fair amount of lipocontouring with either removal of subplatysmal fat or tightening of the platysma muscle. I have also found that the addition of a chin implant also can add extra length in the neck and stretch the skin adequately so as to avoid incisions behind the ears. Good luck to you. A consultation with a plastic surgeon who specializes in facial aesthetics will be your best resource.
Neck laxity can be improved when you are young using lasers, liposuction/ThermiRF, sculptra, or skin tightening procedures like thermage/ultherapy/venus legacy. I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist with experience. Best, Dr. Emer.
From your pictures, it does not appear that you need a neck lift. An in person consultation would be helpful to determine if any other procedures might address your concerns, such as a chin augmentation or submental liposuction.
Chin implant with possible liposuction may be appropriate based upon the pictures.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA
Thank you for your question, jobotcosmetics, and your detailed pictures. I do not see the turkey neck and the skin laxity seems fine. You may be a Neck Lift candidate in the future, however, I suggest you continue to follow a healthy diet to maintain your great neckline. If you would like to improve your profile, you may consider altering the look for your nose or lips, however I have not seen a complete profile picture. We offer imaging technology at our office to help our patients understand how certain procedures would affect their appearance. I suggest you consult a board certified facial plastic surgeon whose office has similar imaging capabilities. Best wishes,
You do not have a turkey neck. You do not need any treatment. Stay healthy and in shape, this will improve the small amount of fat that is not excessive.
Thank you for your question for sharing your pictures. Based on your age and photos, I would recommend non-surgical approaches. I am finding that the combination of Kybella or Coolsculpting Mini to reduce the sub mental fullness and an energy device to tighten the skin are among the best non-surgical combinations to help your neck concerns.Kybella is an injection procedure that dissolves the fat an may require between 2-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. There is some swelling and bruising potential, with the greatest amount with the first treatment. The Coolsculpting mini procedure cools the fatty tissue under the submental area and also reduces the fatty tissue under the chin.As far as energy devices, I would recommend Ulthera if you are looking for something with no downtime, or Profound if you could tolerate some downtime. Ulthera is an ultrasound based energy that heats the underlying tissue and stimulates collagen in response. Profound is a radio frequency microneedling device that allows for the creation of Elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid and hence restores some of the lost elasticity in the neck. It has more visible downtime with the possibility of some swelling and bruising that diminishes in about a weeks time.
It would be worth posting your photos again. It would be very unusual to perform neck lift surgery on someone your age and would be worth consulting with a PS with experience on surgical and non surgical procedures.
Hi Jobot, thank you for providing all of the pictures. Unfortunately, I was unable to open them and get a clear picture. In my experience, it is very unlikely, barring massive weight loss, that neck laxity would be an issue for a 26 year old. The most common issue regarding loss of neck definition for people in their 20's is excess submental fat. This is when there is proportionally too much fat just below the chin. I've found lipocontouring of the neck to be very effective at reducing the amount of fat, restoring the natural contour to your neck. Follow up with an experienced facial plastic surgeon who can give you options.
At 26 years of age, the skin tone is usually just fine. A full set of photographs are required to make any determination about what is going on in the neck. In addition to the skin tone, it's important to evaluate fatty deposits located above the platysma muscle known as submental fat, and the subplatysmal fatty deposits located below the platysma muscle. Also important to evaluate the integrity of the platysma muscle itself. When patients are at a young age with a large turkey neck, they usually require fatty deposit removal above and below the platysma muscle and a platysma plasty. At 26 years of age, and no skin removal is required. For many examples and more information, please see the link and the video below
A combination of non-surgical options like Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, Ultherapy and Thermage would do well in combination for skin tightening for the neck. VASER Liposuction (with ThermiRF, Renuvion and InMode FaceTite) is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck and c...
I would ask your surgeon but you could probably start it a couple of days later. . I would also drink lots of fluids. Best of Luck!
You look to have a good contour and I am not entirely sure that surgery would be in your best interest. It is difficult to comment without an examination and you should consult with a PS with experience in both surgical and non surgical treatments.
