miraDry is designed to eliminate sweat and odor glands in your armpit, so it is only to be used for treatment under the arms. Botox can be injected by a provider to help with sweat in other areas, such as the groin.
It is inadvisable to use MiraDry for anything accept the underarms, as this is the only body part it is FDA approved for.
It is not FDA approved for the groin and likely too high risk for this area since the bio tip has been specifically designed for the underarms. Botox and Dysport are safe for the groin, scrotox, and buttock sweating. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo
MiraDry has been FDA cleared to treat sweating in the armpit area. There are studies with a different handpiece to assess treatment of sweating in other areas of the body but this has not come out yet. For now, Botox injections can be tried to help sweating in groin area.
MiraDry is currently only FDA approved for use in the underarms for axillary hyperhidrosis. However, the company is currently performing a trial on the groin area and also working on protocols for the palms and soles of the feet. This will be coming soon and will likely be safer than doing it off protocol with the current device and handpiece.
I am the first and perhaps only doctor in the US who is performing miraDry (off label) for groin hyperhidrosis in men and women and I have found it to be safe and succesful.I have been performing axillary miraDry since May 2011. As a CV surgeon, I map the axillary vessels and perform the procedure safely. H Karamanoukian MD FACSCenter for Excessive Sweating, established in 1999

Miradry effectively kills sweat AND odor glands which reside within mm of eachother under the skin. Typically, only 1 treatment is needed. I would give it about 3 months before you have a follow up with your healthcare provider and at that time, he/she can perform a starch iodine test to...

Hello Blonde.Use of MiraDry in this area would be off-label which means it has not been studied for safety and efficiency by the FDA. Botox use in this area would also be off label. Both of these would be options for this area, but MiraDry would likely give you lasting results, while Botox must...
