Will getting lip filler/injections create a false positive on urine analysis tests that screen for drugs and alcohol?

I would like to get lip injections/filler. But I also have to take random urine analysis tests that screen for drugs and alcohol. Will juvederm or similar show up as a positive on a UA? Thank you. Thank you!

Hi Sunshineway,You are fine to have lip injections with filler. None of the substances that we (board-certified) physicians use as injections to fill patients' lips contain any substance that would show-up as a (false) positive on a urinalysis. Hope this helps!Dr. Kiripolsky

You will be fine taking a random urine analysis test for any lip fillers or botox injections.   Of course - that is assuming you are not taking anything for pain prior to the injection.   Ibuprofen and tylenol are fine.

No, Juvederm won't create a false positive for urine tests. Keep in mind, it will take 1-2 weeks for final results with Juvederm. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Lip fillers/injections should not create a false positive on a urine analysis. Unless the physician uses any sort of sedation; which I think is highly unlikely!

There is no indication that fillers would cause a false positive reading on a drug or alcohol screening.  I hope this helps.
