I did (liposuction and gland removal) 11 days ago, removed pressure bandages 3 days ago but I see difference between right and left side left side over the tendon of pectoralis I feel firm lump which is tender and causing mild restriction of raising my arm up below it a crater or depressed area Above It I feel some fluid and crepitations I do massage and wearing tight garments will it improve and what can I do to help? Is this an induration? Or organized seroma/hematoma? Or fibrosis?
Answer: Massage the area Following liposuction, you can develop lumpy hard areas which can cause some restriction of movement. Massaging these areas will help to soften the underlying scarring that is developing and this can take some weeks to months to settle down. Generally, as the scarring softens and you get less discomfort, it will result in more movement. As you move your arm more, this will cause more of the inflammation to dissipate and eventually soften the area.I would continue with the massaging regularly and wear the compression garments - you might find skins are more comfortable compared to the garments and this could help. I hope this is of help to you BW

Answer: Gynecomastia answers A plastic surgeon can perform a physical exam to determine and to show the patient if there is swelling, residual fat, scarring, lymphatic fluid, seroma, hematoma or any other type of build up. Swelling is very common after gynecomastia surgery and many men feel as though they are getting "bigger" in the weeks after surgery. This is why compression, avoiding working out and other strategies are employed to minimize swelling. For peace of mind it is best to have the plastic surgeon show you with a physical exam exactly what is going on.

Answer: Lump 11 days following gynecomastia correction Hi and welcome to our forum! Congratulations on your recent procedure...The procedure of gynecomastia correction is an "insult" to the underlying soft tissues, resulting in swelling which will initially totally obscure the operative result. Swelling may not be uniform but may be localized into small areas of increased firmness which may be associated with a degree of hypersensitivity. Alternatively, it may represent a small hematoma which has accumulated in that area. The purpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. We usually recommend its use for the first 4-6 weeks after the procedure. 60-80% of the swelling should subside within the first 6 weeks, with the remainder slowly subsiding over 6-12 months. I would make my plastic surgeon aware of this problem as an examination is required to determine its nature. Continue followup care with your plastic surgeon... Best wishes...
