It's difficult to say without the benefit of a formal evaluation. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question, maddiebeats. For some reason the images are not appearing, however, based on my experience, many 25 year olds with jowls do not require Neck Lifts. Rather, Kybella injectables or buccal fat removal can provide the desired result. Be sure to consult a board certified facial plastic surgeon with plenty of experience supported by patient testimonial in the procedure that you desire to receive. Best wishes,
I'm not sure if RealSelf is having a glitch, but all I see in the photos is a surface of a murky carpet!
Thanks for your question. I would have to agree with my colleague that your face looks completely normal for your age and significant jowls are expected to become more noticeable starting in your 40's. Best of luck to you.
Gravitional aging in the face typically begins in your 40s. You face appears completely normal based on the photos you submitted.
It is unreasonable to consider neck surgery in 25 year old people except in extreme circumstances (large weight loss or diseases of the skin). That does not mean that the neck of a 25 year cannot be improved. What are the problems to consider?Weak chin - a recessive chin can result in an imbalance to the face that makes the neck look fat and the lower face appear weak.Neck fat - excess neck fat at 25 years old can be the result of excess body weight or genetics. That is right, some people can be thin and have a fat neck as a result of geneticsThe treatments may be evidentFor a weak chin, a chin implant can work wonders. For a fat neck - neck liposuction is ideal. Other modalities like radio frequency or injection may help but not as precisely or as quickly as liposuction. If you have any further questions, please read my book "A More Beautiful You - Reverse Aging through Skincare, Plastic Surgery and other Lifestyle Solutions".
The photographs demonstrate a weak and deficient chin profile, for which a chin implant can help augment and balance the face. Chin implants are manufactured in a variety of shapes and sizes, are placed usually through a submental incision to give added projection to the chin. For many examples, please see the video and the link below
It is more likely that you have prominent Buccal fat pads which can be removed through small incisions inside of your mouth. This procedure produces a profound change in the contour of your lower face and may be combined with liposuction along your jawline for better definition.
Thank you for the photos and question and from them without an examination you do appear to have a recessive chinDr Corbin
Dear Maddiebeats, Unfortunately the photographs at this time are not coming up on my screen. However, most commonly when patient's of your age complain about jowls that are fatty are often times buccal fat pads that can be removed. I perform this procedure often in my practice and it is a very favorable result for young ladies your age. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
I have used dissolving sutures (PDS long acting) for this problem in our practice for over 10 years with excellent results. The sutures have to stay for 2-3 months, if they dissolve sooner, then the lift may sag.
Nothing can quite compare with the fantastic results of a surgical necklift. However, if you're looking for non-surgical neck-tightening options, I recommend Ulthera (Ultherapy). Using ultrasound technology, Ulthera uses focused ultrasound to lift and tighten loose skin over time, without any...
Remicaid is a dangerous treatment since it affects healing. The timing of your surgery and your Remicaid infusion have to be very carefully aligned, and you might have to delay your first post-op Remicaid treatment if you're not fully healed. There are good surgical and non-surgical...
