I take an infusion of Remicaid every 8 weeks and am concerned about infection and healing
Answer: Remicaid Remicaid is a dangerous treatment since it affects healing. The timing of your surgery and your Remicaid infusion have to be very carefully aligned, and you might have to delay your first post-op Remicaid treatment if you're not fully healed. There are good surgical and non-surgical treatments for this, and you need to find out your options by having a proper examination with a qualified plastic surgeon. Be sure to discuss with your own surgeon about how this applies to you, and whether they have any special concerns in your case.

It is best to have clearance from your rheumatologist before embarking upon elective cosmetic surgery

Answer: Facial Rejuvenation Surgery while on Remicaid We routinely consult with the treating rheumatologist before facial surgery in order to maximize healing potential and minimize any risks. As an TNF alpha blocker, Remicaid has not caused healing problems in the few patients who were on this medication.
