I am booked to have a BA and lift, my number one concern would be the scaring from the lift, and wondered if it’s necessary I have to have a lift as well? My surgeon has made it clear that my nipples would sit uneven but would that be extremely noticiable? I haven’t had any children yet and thought to just have the BA and after children focus on the lift? Or would you recommend doing it all first. I am just looking for a second opinion. Thank you

Answer: Do I need a breast lift? You might not need one. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They then get to choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Mildly Sagging Breasts: If your breasts are mildly droopy, a saline or silicone gel implant placed behind the pectoral muscle might help create the illusion of perkiness. That’s because as the implant fills out the top of the breast, it also fills out the bottom, making it look as if the nipple has moved higher. It hasn’t. You can always get a lift later if you feel you are not perky enough when fully settled and healed. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. Answer: Do I need a Breast lift? Would I achieve even results from implants alone? To lift or not to lift. That is the question! Breast augmentation alone might be a good option if you are ok with maintaining more o less the same asymmetries after surgery that you have now. It will be noticeable. But, I feel that you can avoid traditional breast lift scars with a circumferential lift, also known as a Benelli Lift. This is a scar around the areola only that will help lift the breast and areola. This lift might not be perfect, but I feel it is your best option. A good middle ground. It will make for much more symmetrical breasts and better nipple position without excessive scarring, especially on your left breast. Best of Luck, Dr. Miguel Mota
