I have had these xanthalasmas for a while and they have hampered my self confidence immensely. How can I remove them? How many sittings and recovery time would go with the process? Is it covered through insurance?

Your doctor is correct in saying that there is only so much fat to work with. That is a correct statement if the source is your lower eyelid fat. It is difficult to tell without photos, but at this point, your options are to use a filler or another fat graft from a different area. Best of luck.
Hello bekpayne,Its hard to tell if the surgeon did fat transfer with the plication. Edema is very common for 4 weeks from this surgery. I would let it settle in the next 2 weeks maybe with some mild steroids. Have this discussion with your surgeon. If it still persists there are ways to fix it...
