Lower blepharoplasty, 4 weeks post-op. Will swelling go away? (Photo)

Question

I had a Lower Blepharoplasty with an Orbicularis Suspension done about 4 weeks ago. I was told I had Fesroon bags and this was the best way to get rid of them. I’m concerned that this swelling will not go away . It feels gel like . I’ll post day before surgery picture ... Then 5 days postop when bandages came off ... And as of today .

My question would be whether your doctor also did fat transfer at the time of the bleph.  If that is the case, the swelling takes longer to resolve.  Be sure to follow with your doctor.

Thanks for the questions and pics. The lower lids do take much longer than the upper lids regarding recovery. I would recommend waiting at least 2-3 months to see how the swelling looks at that time. Some patients do take longer than others to heal.

Hello bekpayne,Its hard to tell if the surgeon did fat transfer with the plication. Edema is very common for 4 weeks from this surgery. I would let it settle in the next 2 weeks maybe with some mild steroids. Have this discussion with your surgeon. If it still persists there are ways to fix it if needed. Not to worry.
