Hi everyone, This is my first time posting here! I was wondering if I'd be a good candidate for a genioplasty? I would really like a better chin. I am kind of confused on the difference between djs and genioplasty, but I don't have any medical concerns like sleep apnea or lip incompetence, and my orthodontist has said my bite is good. If possible, I would like to get a genioplasty if it would look good because it is less expensive. Thoughts?
Answer: Genioplasty You are a candidate for chin advancement surgery. A genioplasty and chin implant are the two possibilities for you. With chin advancements of 7 mm or greater I perform a sliding genioplasty. If the advancement is less than 7 mm then a chin implant is another option. I usually recommend simultaneous jawline and submental liposuction. The surgery is performed in the office with sedation anesthesia and does not affect your bite or teeth.

Answer: Genioplasty is a great option One of the big differentiators in the decision process for double jaw vs genioplasty is the midface including nasolabial angle. You mention no functional issues, so that makes it less mission critical to do DJS. As you look at your profile, your chin falls behind your lower lip and your lower facial 1/3 is short. You can balance out the projection and vertical height with doing a genioplasty. This won’t change your bite at all, and sounds like you don’t need to. The genioplasty would help define your jawline a bit better and improve the transition from your chin to your neck. DJS is also an option. If you wanted to balance your nasolabial fold, get a significant amount of projection, lengthen your jawline, it would be the most predictable way to do that. Main reason I would think about that for someone like you is if you wanted to change the shape of your nose at all or you had functional issues. It would be a subtle difference in outcome DJS vs genioplasty for you, so all being equal genioplasty is an easier option with a great outcome.

Answer: I would definitely recommend a chin implant. Hello. Yes, you are suitable for genioplasty, but I can definitely recommend the chin implant, which is both cheaper and more comfortable and easier than genioplasty. You can get the same effect from the chin implant. I suggest you do some research on this. Please check our Instagram account and RealSelf photos. You can get more detailed information about me, ask all questions about your case and sending your photos to my assistants at the number on my profile. You can also book an online consultation and discuss your problems with me. Best regards.

Answer: What I'd be a good candidate for a genioplasty or a chin implant Hey Genie up last he is performed by an oral surgeon under general anesthesia at a hospital setting with an overnight stay at the hospital, since it is much more invasive. Sometimes both the upper and lower jaws need to be corrected. A genioplasty is usually performed when the teeth are significantly out of alignment. For cosmetic purposes only, consider placement of a chin implant which can be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure which takes about 30 minutes.
