Should I have a revision genioplasty with my original surgeon?

Thank you for your question. You have had a 10 mm chin advancement. It will be more complex to move the chin back 3-4 mm. Not impossible but complex. Seek a surgeon with great experience with Genioplasty.

If the surgeon elected to move your chin 10 mm there was a significant amount of recession. If you want just a slight reduction in the projection then you may want to consider a chin shaving from an external approach which is less invasive than a reduction genioplasty. Photos would be helpful.

There are things to consider when choosing a surgeon. If you feel comfortable with that surgeon, and the original surgery did not have any complications, you could stay with them. It sounds like the surgery was fine, but the chin was moved too far forward? Did you agree to this movement with the surgeon prior, or did they move it to where they wanted? Were they able to show you simulated photos so you could see the reasonable result before the surgery? If you answered no to those questions, then I might consider seeking out another opinion. It is important you feel safe and that your concerns are heard and met with reasonable responses and expectations.
