A browpexy is done through an upper lid incision and attached the brow to the underlying tissues in the forehead. And endoscopic brow lift is done through 4 small incision behind the hairline, and lifts the brow and forehead together.I do not perform browpexy except in very specific circumstances when the patient can not have an endoscopic brow lift. In my opinion, the brow lift gives a more natural result and is much longer lasting.
A broo is for brows that are too low and give a sad tired appearance. A brow pexy ,a procedure which is rarely performed in my practice, is to suture the brow without removing any skin to a higher position.
Hello, thank you for your question. A brow plexy is when the brow is tacked in a higher position using sutures or other materials. This is a less invasive procedure then the brow lift. A brow lift is when the brows are actually detached from the deeper tissues, repositioned upward, and tissue is removed. In my experience, the brow plexy is more likely to fail (in some cases, within 3 months), where a brow lift is likely to be more long lived. Temporarily the brow plexy could give you the same results as a brow lift, although usually this is not the case. In my opinion, it is best to do the brow lift.
A browpexy is an internal suspension of the eyebrow done from an upper eyelid incision. This is a minimally invasive procedure usually done with upper eyelid blepharoplasty to help stabilize or slightly lift the brow. A endoscopic brow lift is performed through hidden incisions in the hairline and is effective to lift and reshape the entire forehead and eyebrows. An endoscopic brow lift is the gold standard in rejuvenation of the upper face and allows great flexibility in determining the height, shape and contour of the eyebrows and forehead. A browpexy is limited to a minor lift of the lateral brow only.
A brow pexy is only using suture techniques to lift a small area of the eyebrow and does not involve any skin removal. A brow lift procedure is also known as a forehead lift which involves an incision across the top of the forehead. A full set of pictures are required to make a determination about being a candidate for the procedure. In addition to lifting the eyebrows, asymmetry of the eyebrows can also be adjusted, the hairline can be brought upwards and downwards, and the vertical and horizontal creases in the forehead can also be softened as well.
That is an excellent question. A browpexy is not a brow lift. A bro pexy is a minimally invasive procedure that essentially resets the brow or the tail of the brow at or just above the orbital rim. A brow lift (by whatever method used) is a bigger procedure with a more pronounced lift. The choice of which procedure is best is an individual decision between the patient and surgeon based on the patient's goals and what the surgeon believes is a realistically achievable result. I hope this helps.
There is no definite uniform thought about what each procedure is called. I suggest you ask each surgeon using these terms exactly what they are going to do. For example, there are many different brow lift techniques. No, all approaches do not give the same results. An endoscopic brow lift will raise the hairline. An Irregular Trichophytic hairline Incision technique can be used to maintain or lower the hairline position during the brow lift.
It is not unusual to see temporary or even permanent hair loss after any incisions and scar in hair-bearing skin. However, it may be transient effect which may significantly improve in next 4-6 months. Pain and loss of sensation behind the scalp scars may be result of nerve injury; one of the br...
One week post-surgery is too early yet to determine your final results. The brow lift, rhinoplasty, and blepharoplasty require several weeks and in some cases months to see the final results. In the post-op photo your eyes look more open and therefore more youthful. I would recommend giving more...
Botox to the outer brow will lift the corner, and you may get too high of an arch. A little botox just above the arch can drop it. If you also do Botox in the glabella, you will be weakening the muscles which are the "depressors" of the medial brow, so most people get a lift of the medial b...
Great question! The most important question is the experience of the surgeon. However, surgeons who are board certified in plastic surgery or facial plastic surgery are trained to perform these procedures. Best of luck and hope this information helps! - Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsai Board Cert...
I would try a neuromodulator such as Botox that cause the deep lines and furrows caused by several muscles: the corrugater (corrugated the brow), depressor supercillii, and procerus muscle. Your natural facial movements stimulate these muscles to cause the “frown” lines. Bot...
When you excise an ellipse of skin then you can sometimes get some fullness at the ends called a "dog ear" in common parlance or standing cutaneous deformity in doctor-speak. You should be able to have a small ellipse of additional skin removed in the office with resolution of the bump.
