It is not unusual to see temporary or even permanent hair loss after any incisions and scar in hair-bearing skin. However, it may be transient effect which may significantly improve in next 4-6 months. Pain and loss of sensation behind the scalp scars may be result of nerve injury; one of the branches of nerve supplying sensation to most of the anterior scalp may be damaged with this type of lift and result in permanent or temporary (like in face) loss of sensation. Pain may be related to this phenomena. Discussion with your surgeon is the best way to understand what is going on and what to expect in the long run. Good luck.

I am sorry to hear of your distress. Numbness following surgery is not uncommon. It is usually self limited, resolving over 6-12 months or so. An occasional patient may demonstrate permanent areas of altered sensation. Itching may be a sign of early nerve regeneration. Hair loss about the incision is also not uncommon. Hair regrowth within the year usually occurs, but on occasion a revisional procedure is required. 15% of cosmetic procedures require a secondary touch up.
The discomfort should be gradually resolving. If increasing over time, it may be wise to revisit your plastic surgeon specifically for this problem.
Continue followup care with your plastic surgeon.
